swept away

Sun, moon, stars, and warm air; winds blew in rain late at night. When we haven't had any for weeks on end, it's comforting to hear it hitting the leaves outside the window. That novelty will fade later this year.
So there's a cabal within ABC responsible for this two part 9/11 propanganda being foisted on us via the tee vee. Group of conservatives headed by that Horowitz feller. Looks like Hilary may have been right after all. This is just one little slimy tendril on the invasive biomass of the right, but it is infesting a powerful element, mass communications. I have listened to people say blithely, oh, the networks don't care about politics, only the bottom line; I disagree. This is a glimpse into a possible nightmare of our future.

The next two months are going to be so hellish I'm not sure I'm actually prepared for the assault. This ABC docushit is just the first salvo in the post-labor day election season. I am appalled, but it is a good lesson.

If this is a glimpse of the future, what are we going to do? Move to Canada? Storm Washington DC with pitchforks? (This really appeals to me for some reason.)

Nah, Canada is heading the same direction, as in politically conservative, lots of booming development, "ownership society," ad very nauseum. We need to stand here in the state of Washington and fight the religious rights groups and construction industry, who are funneling lots of money into stacking our state supreme court with truly activist judges, i.e., ones who will serve their venal purposes. That's just one thing. Then we have the big national GOP head hogs focusing on our state for this next election. As in Rove coming here, the Bushes, Cheney...all going to Medina over on the east side of Lake Washington to wring money out of their local sycophants.
Pitchforks would be a swell direct method...
