Hallowed candy grifters
Only a few more than a dozen kids came by, but all were pretty young and excited about the night. None of the rather ominous lurking teens we've had in past years, to whom you hand a bunch of stuff and hope they don't return for tricks. Lat year I think was when a two year old golden haired toddler came as a great white shark; her counterpart this year wore a very hairy black tarantula outfit, really cute. Early to bed, and no loud carousing from any quarter.

On Halloween we were in Leisure World, home of thousands and thousands of retired people driving around in the golf carts. No trick or treaters to be found. It is a gated community, so we did get to see two splendid gatekeepers fully costumed. One was dressed as a nun and the other was a good witch who welcomed us to "Oz." Then she changed her mind and said it was really the land of "Was."
Whoa. A bit too much candor, eh?!
I am sure I don't want to live in one of those communitites.
We had far fewer this year than last. So there's a big tub of candy sitting on the kitchen counter. Can't wait for it to disappear to TMotH's office tomorrow morning.
Best costume of the night was a pint-sized blonde Dracula complete with black cape with stand-up collar and little dribbles of "blood" from the corners of his mouth.
