Washed away day

Yesterday proved cold, wet and miserable, not much relief for it other than forced errand marching and an excuse to hit up the hot chocolate joint. They have some interesting dipsticks for their beverages which one can buy, such as chocolate-dipped marshmallows on bamboo skewers, and colored rock candy formations for one's tea, I presume.
Today we bagged an unexpectedly sunny late morning, which didn't spill over into my afternoon run and workout; rainy window. Wonder how the kids are doing down in Joshua Tree...

Well, sure, kathyr, but the rock candy stirrers comes in a choice of colors! It's just more consumerism, only not such a huge deal as overpriced women's shoes with ugly pointed toes, for example, or any of MANY other items people buy that I think are unnecessary and a waste of resources.
Now, a good not too sweet cup of hot chocolate on a miserably damp cold day IS a necessity!

Oh it's quite a lovely day in Austin. Beautiful sunshine, mild. I'm wearing shorts again (although it's nippy out tonight) We'll see if those snow flurries materialize on Sunday morning.

This gray weather is starting to really bug me. We had a brilliant cloudless sunrise Friday morning, and then the fog blew in. FOG!! I took it personally.
