lumbering in the chill

It was hard to keep warm for most of the day, as in one's inner thermostat. And so my poppet, if you feel infirm, it may be that you contain a germ. (pax Ogden Nash) We plodded along anyway, to the workout joint, open for the first time ever on New Year's Day, I think. No excuses.
Am just about done with Gulliver's Travels, and reading his conversations with the head of the horse race called the Houyhynhnms, I think that Swift would be horrified and disgusted unto death with the same old world situation he detailed, magnified beyond his wildest nightmares.
Our planet is run by Yahoos.

Yes, things don't change very much. It is rather disheartening. I think we humans made a bad choice about how to live 10,000 years ago, and it's impossible to turn back. Literature is replete with examples of our errors.

Hope you are feeling better. Roger has been feeling a bit infirm himself.

AS a friend of mine said yesterday after our restorative climbing session, Humanity learns, but it just doesn't change.
Hope you guys are liking the new year!
