Last good day for a bit

Yes, we have needed some free water from the skies, but seeing the banks of dark clouds roll in still piques a bit of disappointment. Got the hay mowed first, at least, and moved the camping family members inside, due to imminent rain.
Just about done with The Reluctant Fundamentalist. Very mixed thoughts about the author's intent.

I wouldn't mind a nice rain shower here. The earth is August parched and we're in for our hottest weather over the next three days. Ah, for a little rainy respite.

TaraD, it's an extremely well-written little novel, although the device of the narrator being the main show gets annoying. You should give it a test read. Also, there's a moment when I wondered if his main character's reaction to the 9/11 attack was related to the author's...

But RA, your tomatoes may actually ripen! I hope you guys are doing all right. Anything you'd like from up this way?

So kind of you to ask, but we're really fine. If you could send a little bit of rain, though, that would be nice. Other than that, our tomatoes are RIPE. We had one with fresh basil and dash of olive oil last night at dinner. Delicious is the only word.
