Bellweathers

So windy today they are blowing away, and too windy for a particular delicate flower in the household, who chose to declare it a rest day. We watched the World Series game sporadically, and I was sorry to see the Tigers lose. Since that Cardinals pitcher appeared on a GOP -financed ad against stem cell research, I've thrown in with the Tiges. That Card better hope he never gets beaned too hard.

I hate to see good wind wasted. Hopefuully there were some sailors out windsurfing in your neck of the wood.

I saw the tigers get spanked...it's a tough loss when you have a pitcher that tosses consistent 100 MPH balls.

Oh, I bet there was some fine windsurfing out there, 'spike. Not so good for sea kayakers or climbers, but someone can make use of it.

Are you talking about Kurt Warner? The quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals football team? Not the St. Louis baseball team? I saw that clip he made for the anti-stem cell stuff on Bill Maher last night. You might have the wrong team. In any case, a dull series. But when you have to knock the ice off the bats and balls before you can play...well, it's a might difficult. Maybe they should push the series back to around Christmastime and play in the snow. That would be fun! Used to do that when we were kids. Just wrap black electrical tape around the ball so you can see it in the snow and OUILA! And that way Baby Jesus could play too...

Neil, there was a St. Louis cards pitcher in that ad named Suppen. I think that's the right name. Whoever was writing about it mentioned that baseball players were the dumbest athletes. Might have been on driftglass's site.
