Ready to rumble

Well, I can finally sort of go downstairs with a normal gait; and I'm fixing to go running and weightlifting, so I've incurred no lasting damage from my last outdoor adventure. 'Twill serve me well on our journey for happy hour sushi.

I just saw the pics of your incredible adventure over at Phil's blog. Wow. You really did take on quite an adventure. Glad that your body is starting to cooperate with you.

I just read your post about the dog that killed the chicken. Unacceptable behavior for a neighborhood. The dog can't help what it knows how to do, it's the humans that need to be smacked around a bit.

True - Very poor dog management by its humans. But if an animal starts biting humans or killing other people's animals, because it is poorly trained and/or not restrained as it is supposed to be, I do think it needs to be destroyed. A big city is a very stupid place to have large dogs, especially when the owners LEAVE for the whole fucking day and aren't responsible for the animals' actions. This could have been one of the little humans in the hood who got nailed, not just a young chicken.

I agree with you, isabelita. I think dogs that go on killing rampages need to be destroyed. I would like to see their "owners" be made to take some responsibility as well. Maybe a hefty fine would be a good start, reparations and damages.

As a follow up: My friend heard from the dog owner, who was very apologetic and offered reparations. I told my friend she should tell the person that it was a rare Rhodesian Ridgeback Red, and my friend smiled in her impish way and said, yeah, maybe worth around $500. All in jest; if anyone were able to forgive it would be this friend. I doubt she'll even accept any money, but is insisting that the dog folks abide by the laws, like the rest of us.
