Blowing away

Such weather. My umbrella eviscerated itself as I returned from a hunting and gathering foray.
We walked laps around and up and down the inside of the house, and listened to the gusts attacking the house's southwestern flanks. Made bread, chored around. The stormy day made us feel like a ship caught out on the sea in the dark. The ship's cat showed signs of madness, as he scrambled fore and aft abusing his catnip mouse, tumbling downstairs like a rum-soaked deckhand. Even the nature shows were saturated: an episode of Blue Planet featuring coasts, and one depicting "swamp cats", lions that live in the Okavango swamp in Africa. And always with the imperiled baby animals; it's enough to wrench the coldest heart, maybe.

We had our share of that storm. Whew. I hadn't felt wind like that since I was a student in Boulder, Co, and the chinooks came in off the Rockies. We were without power for 12 hours. Really not bad considering that we just heard that one local community won't have their power restored until Saturday. It's been very interesting weather.

Robin, we only had a couple of threatening blinks to our lights. Seattle's been so heavily logged over the past few decades we don't get so many trees on lines any more.I'm glad the storms ahve abated.

Oh, sort of, kathy, but mostly the cat. I'll go walking in just about any weather conditions.

Yeah, those darn nature programs, they should outlaw those things. They just toy with our emotions!

neil, I have been afflicted with baby animal violence aversion syndrome since I was a kid, watching episodes of "Lassie." I know it's ridiculous.
