Rather skunked
The sturm and drang about possible storm and ensuing wreckage of the city petered out, more or less. All took action and precautions, but the snow didn't lay deep on our town; it will freeze harder tonight, but that just inspires us to make comforting dishes and put on more blankets. The birds are all still trying to nest and mate, and seem to be having the usual set-tos, crows versus jays, hummingbirds against everything. Maybe the jabbering and zipping about keep them warmed up.
Blossoms frozen, glad I didn't plant peas...

"Hummingbirds against everything..." that's the truth! They waste so much of their precious energy over nothing. We got all the snow here. More than we've seen in years. Despite how difficult it makes everything, it sure is pretty.
The "winter weather advisory" was extended here, but it is warming up - well, it just hit 40 - yes, your photos are gorgeous!
This has been an unusual February. The first week was frigid with another batch a week later, ending in snow. But after that, it's been extraordinarily pleasant. I've had all the plants out of the garage for nearly 2 weeks ago, and even the tomato seedlings have been able to stay out overnight.
Lucky you, kona! It's still bloody miserable out here, but more snow in the mountains will give us water in summer and fall. The garden columns are trilling that it's time to buy seeds; I have some, but don't have a good place to start them inside. I ownder if the psuds I put in last fall will come up...
